Happy St. John the Baptist Day in Quebec!

Saint Jean Baptiste Day is celebrated annually in the province of Quebec and by French Canadians across Canada and the United States!  

The celebration was brought to Quebec by French settlers and marks the traditional feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, a Jewish preacher who baptized Jesus in the River Jordan. 

It is a day of celebration in Quebec and was declared a public holiday in 1925.

Saint Jean Baptiste Day is also known as "la Saint-Jean", "St. John the Baptist Day", "Fête nationale du Québec" and "Quebec's National Holiday".

Festivities include fireworks, concerts and public gatherings in local parks.
